Where to stay?

The city will be very busy during the summer of 2017 due to Canada’s 150th and Montréal’s 375th. We recommend that you book your hotel early in 2017.

We suggest the following lodging options (prices in Canadian dollars do not include applicable taxes):

1 – We secured a limited number of rooms at the Sheraton Montreal (symposium site, see map). $209 CAD. Arrival: July 30. Departure: August 4. PLEASE do not call the Sheraton directly. Booking is done through the registration process.

2 – We secured a limited number of rooms at McGill’s New Residence Hall (25 min walk from the symposium site, see map). From $124 CAD. Arrival: July 30. Departure: August 4. PLEASE do not call the New Residence Hall directly. Booking is done through the registration process.

For options 1 and 2: In order to take benefit of a special rate, please book through the registration site.

3 – You can book directly with any of McGill’s preferred hotels. Don’t forget to mention that you will be a McGill visitor during your stay to obtain the preferential rate. All hotels are located at a walking distance from the symposium site.

4 – An inexpensive but modest alternative is the Studio Hotel Université de Montréal (Can easily be reached by subway, locally called “Metro”). Room rates from $40 CAD to $130 CAD.

5 – Your own initiative.
